Wren (25-12-19)
Fergus Rovers will have many crews out in the wren this year. We will be covering the Ballynacally and Lissycasey area. This is a great fundraiser to help with the running of the club.

The clubs calendar for 2020 is now on sale at Taltys Mace, Kellys Clondegad, Carrigs and McNamees Darragh. Cost of the calendar is €10 with all the 2019 teams includes.
County board chairman (11-12-19)
At last nights A.G.M David O Brien will step up to the chairmans roll after the untimely death of Kieran Harvey in November. O Brien was the vice chair last year. Monica Callinan will begin her third year as secretary with Geraldine Kelly from Cuil Gaels the new treasurer.
A.G.M update (25-11-19)
A very well attended a.g.m in Lissycasey community room on Friday night last was very successful. The only major change saw Rosie McMahon take over the P.R.O job from Mary Keating. Alan Culligan remained on as chairman with Colette Hogan also staying on as Secretary. Olive O Sullivan gave a detailed account of the financial position of the club. Olive will also stay on in her position. Roisin Killeen is the new Culture and Language officer taking over from Brid Keane. Most of the team managements were also filled with the U6 management deferred until the Jan. meeting. Justin Griffin is the new u12 manager and Patricia Meaney is the new u14 manager. Kevin Hanrahan is the new u16 manger with the intermediate management from 2019 saying on.
Minor C champions (17-11-19)
Fergus Rovers won the minor C cup final against Kilmihil today after both sides finished level in normal time at 0-9 a piece. In excellent condition in Coolmeen after this game was refixed a number of times it was well worth the wait. Before kickoff a minutes silence was held for the late Ciaran Harvey. Kilmihil opened the scoring from Aoife McNamara. Sorcha Donnellan had Rovers opening score with Hannah Mai Neylon and Aisling Costello also pointing. Sorcha Donnellan also pointed a free. Half time score Fergus Rovers 0-5 Kilmhil 0-4. Three points from Aisling Costello and one from Aine Garry accounted for Rovers second half scores. A late free from Katie Mullen Breen level the game which extra time of seven minutes per half looming. It was extra time when Rovers came out well on top. Two goals in the space of a few minutes from Hanna Mia Neylon and Rebecca Carmody closed out this game. half time score in extra time Fergus Rovers 3-11 Kilmihil 0-9. Kilmhil out score Rovers in the final seven minutes 1-1 to a point. Final score Fergus Rovers 3-12 Kilmihil 1-10. After the game David O Brien presented the player of the match award to Aine Garry and Aine was also captain to accept the cup. It has been a great year for the club with the minor title been number eight.
Minor Final cancelled (14-11-19)
The minor final between Fergus Rovers and Kilmihil has been cancelled for the second time this time due to the pitch in kilmihil been unplayable. It is possible it may be fixed for this weekend.
Minor C final (13-11-19)
On Thursday 14th Nov. Fergus Rovers minors will play Kilmihil in Kilmihil at 6.45pm in the Minor C final. Both sides met in round 1 of the championship when Kilmihil came out on top 4-7 to 3-5. This is sure to be another close game. This is the last competitive game for the club for 2019. On Sunday our u12s are invited to Monaleen for a challenge game at one o clock.
Death of Kieran Harvey rip (5-11-19)
Its with great sadness we hear of the death of Kieran Harvey Clare's county boards chairman from the West Clare Gaels club. Kieran's funeral arrangements are as follows

Reposing on Wednesday evening 6th November in St. Mary's Church, Carrigaholt from 4.00 p.m. until 7.00 p.m.
Requiem Mass on Thursday 7th at 12.00 noon followed by burial in Kilcrona Cemetery, Carrigaholt.

Minor C semi final (22-10-19)
Fergus Rovers had to work hard to earn a spot in the Minor C Final. Leading at the break 1-2 to 0-1. The second half finished level 3-6 a piece with the goals from Aisling Costello and Savina Browne. Both sets of mentors agreed to play 7 minutes per half as light began to fade fast. Rovers made sure of the win by adding 1-4 to Clooney Quins single point. final Score 4-10 to 3-7. The final is due to be played in two weeks time against either Kilmihil or kildysart wo battle it out next weekend in the other semi final.
U14C plate final
the u14c team collected there second title of the year when they added the u14c plate final to the league title won earlier in the year. Rovers were very comefortable over cuil Gaels over the hour. Goals in the first half from Phoebe O Shea and Meabh Ryan had the half time socre 3-4 to 0-3. Gracie Eustace added her sides 3rd goal with Rebecca McNamara and Ria Meaney having like scores. Final score Fergus Rovers 6-8 Cuil Gaels 1-3. Maire Meaney accepted the shield on behalf of her team.
Two U14 finals (11-10-19)
Both our blue and yellow teams are in county final action on Sunday the 13-10-19. The yellow team have an early start in Inagh at 11.30 when they take on Cuil Gaels in the U14 C plate final. At 3pm the blue team play Clooney Quin in Kilmihil in the U14 Division A Shield final. Best of luck to both teams.
Intermediate shield final Fergus Rovers 4-8 Eire og 0-5 (2-10-19)
The opening 20 minutes of this game there was very little between the sides. Frees were exchanged between Louise Griffin And Aisling Rynne. Carmel McGuane got a lovely point from play before Sarah Mullins got the games first goal. Louise Griffin added 1-1 to her tally with two frees the responce from Eire Og. Lauren Griffin pointed from play, another free from Aisling Rynne to cut the lead. The final score of the half came from Michelle Collins who goaled to leave the half time score 3-4 to 0-4.
Sarah Redmond pointed Eire Og's final score with Rovers scores coming from a Louise Griffin free and Carmel McGuane point from play after a great run from Ava Cotter. a Goal came from the boot Rebecca Culligan left the final score 4-8 to 0-5. Year winding down (25-9-19)
The intermediate side will have there final game this Friday evening when they play Eire Og in the Shield final in shannon at 7.45pm. The following morining they will take part in the sile Callinan Tournament in Cooraclare.
The u14 blue team play Clooney Quin in there final round game, the yellow team are in semi final action on Sunday evening details to be confirmed while the minors have a home game against Kilmihl in round 3 details also to be confirmed.
End of season for our u6s (13-9-19)
The u6 squad will have there final session in the hall this evening when all parents and there siblings are invited to attend. Great work was done with this group under the guidance of Paudie Carmody, Roisin Killeen, Brid Coughlan and Clare Meere.

The u12 C replay final was played in Cooraclare on Saturday evening against Kilmurry IB. In a very low scoring game a goal was always going to be the telling score and this proved to be the case. The half time score was Fergus Rovers 0-1 Kilmurry IB 0-2. Rovers point from the boot of Meabh Clancy. The big score of the game from Leah Leahy and a further pointed free from Meabh Clancy. It must be said Kate Griffin played well in goals for the winners and made four saves. Intermediate exit championship (21-8-19)
The intermediate side have exited the 2019 championship with a slim hope of surving if Eire Og could beat Liscannor tomorrow evening. The long trip up to Carron saw Rovers make a slow start to the game but still managed to be level at the break 1-5 a piece. Rebecca Culligan with the first half goal and points from Louise Griffin (2) Rebecca Culligan and two Aine Kelly frees. Burren Gaels when 6 points up at one stage in the second half. Rebecca Culligan got her second goal of the evening and also added a point from play. Other score from Aine Slattery, Lauren Grifin, Louise Griffin, and an Ava O Malley goal was too little. Final score Fergus Rovers 3-9 Burren Gaels 3-11. U15s win Johnny Hayes Cup (19-8-19)
Fergus Rovers u15s won the u15 Johnny Hayes cup on Sunday evening in dreadful conditions when they beat Doora Barefield on a final score of 5-13 to 0-7. A downpours of rain could not spoil the delight of the large crowd when Christina Hayes presented the cup to Rovers Captain Louise Coffey. Aisling Costello finished the game with a tally of 3-8 with Anna Whelan and Rebecca McCarthy adding the other goals.

In the shield final also held in Lissycasey Burren Gaels beat Clooney Quin to collect the shield for the third time.
U12A WINNERS 2019 (15-8-19
What a night it was in Kilrush this evening with our clubs two u12 teams in county final actions. The Blue team winning the A title and the Yellow team have to do it all again against Kilmurry Ib. after it finished all square.
The first game of the night saw the yellow team play Kilmurry Ib in the C shield final. The half time score was F.Rovers 2-0 Kilmurry Ib 0-5. Rovers goals coming from Meabh Clancy and Michelle Shannon. Leah Leahy had a point in the second half to extend the lead but a goal from Kayla Darcy had Kilmurry backin front. Leahy added her second point before Roisin Coughlan hit a cracker which came back off the cross bar and Sienna Houston made no mistake when she goaled the rebound. Two pointed frees from Sarah Meade with time almost up had Rovers behind starring defeat but this team do not panic and worked a draw with a great point from Saoirse Frawley. It is no more than they deserved in what a great game of fooball cheered on by a very big following.Final score Fergus Rovers 2-4 Kilmurry Ib 1-7.The team was Kate Griffin, Ciara Spellissey, Roisin Garry, Lauren Feeney, Leah Leahy, Nicole Carmody (cpt), Nessa meaney, Sarah Hickey, Saoirese Frawley, Maeve Clancy, Hazel Conway, Katie Troy, Michelle Shannon, Leona O Rourke, Sienna Houston, Ali Talty, Saoirse Conway and Roisin Coughlan. It was out of one dressing room and into another to get ready for final number two of the night. The u12 A final against the host club Kilrush. This game started with real pace and an excellent save for goalie Phoebe O Shea was only the start of another exciting game. Kilrush settled better and had 3 points on the board before Katie McMahon scored a pointed free. Points exchanged from Ella Dullaghan and Leah Culligan had the sides level 1-1 to 0-4 with the final scores of the half from a Katie McMahon free and a Laruen Leahy goal. Half time Rovers 2-2 Kilrush 0-4. A Kilrush point and one from Ria Meaney were early scores in the second half. Kilrush scores 3-1 without reply and lead by six and Rovers looked to be in trouble, but similar to the yellow team earlier there was no panic and a goal from Captain Hazel Keating from a free, a Ria Meaney point and another pointed free from Hazel Keating had cut the lead to just one point again. Sadbh Griffin put her name on the score sheet with a point to level the game but another might point from the captain Keating and one from katie McMahon insured a great great win for this u12 panel. Referee Barry kelly played plenty of injury time but a very solid back line held firm. The final score Fergus Rovers 3-8 Kilrush 3-6. Fergus Rovers have qualified for the Cup final when they take on Doora Barefield on Sunday 18th August in lissycasey main pitch at 7pm. The curtin raiser in the sheild final is between Clooney Quin and Burren Gaels which kicks off at 5pm also in Lissycasey main pitch.
Johnny Hayes tournament (1-8-19)
The competition is now at the semi final stages, Kilrush will play Doora Barefield and Fergus Rovers play the Banner in the cup semi finals while Burren Gaels take on Miltown and Clooney Quin play Doonbeg in the shield semi finals.
U12 fixtures (1-8-19)
U12 blue team are due to play West Clare Gaels on August 6th in Kilkee, five days later they have a home game to Corofin in Lissycasey. The yellow team play the Banner on 1st Aug in Lissycasey with a 6.30 throw in. A win in this game will see them reach the Cup final.
Walk form Johnny (1-8-19)
The 4th annual walk for Johnny takes place on Aug 7th from Frure GAA pitchwith registration from 6pm. The walk/ run begins at 7pm.
Busy week for u12s (9-7-19)
The u12 sides have yet another busy week with three games down for decision. The yellow team play Doonbeg in Doonbeg at 7pm on Tue eve. They also play Kilmurry ib on Saturday 13th July in Quilty at 12.30pm. The Blue team play Doora Barefield on Sat.13th at 10am in Gurteen.

u13 county development will commence on 21-7-19 in Clarecastel at 10.30am. This is opened to girls born in 2006.
U14 league champions (8-7-19)
Well done to the u14 yellow team who had a comefortable win over kildysart on Sunday evening in Doonbeg. Leading at the break 4-5 to 1-1. The final score 8-8 to 2-2. There was also wins for both u12 sides at the weekend with the yellow team beating Crusheen. The Blue team beat Kilrush. Well done to all.
Intermediates v Liscannor (1-7-19)
Both sides battle hard with a point each a fair result. With a very strong breeze aiding the home side in Moy they lead 0-7 to 0-2 at half time. Sarah Mullins and Aine Slattery with the scores. Points in the second half from Rebecca Culligan, Louise Griffin and Clare Hestor. Rovers finished very strong out scoring Liscannor 1-2 to 0-0. The goals coming from Aine slattery and Sarah Mullins. Louise Griffin had an excellent long range point to level the game. Final score Fergus Rovers 2-7 Liscannor 1-10. Next up is Burren Gaels on August 20th.

Fergus Rovers got their championship off to a winning start over Eire Og this evening in Frure. The home side were slow to get going with Eire Og converting there chances. A Rebecca Culligan goal had the sides at 1-1 to 0-4 midway through the half. Two well take goals from Sarah Mullins had the half time score 3-6 to 0-6. Clare Hestor added a fourth goal. Full time score 4-14 to 0-14. Well done to the Fergus Rovers u12 Blue team who won the the Divison 1 league last night. This was a comfortable win leading at the break 5-10 to 0-1. Hard luck to the U12 yellow team who were beaten by East clare Gaels on Wed. evening. They were up against a very physically strong team. This is a very young Fergus rovers team who are all only 10 or 11 years so a bright future for this team. The girls were down at half time 3-2 to 0-2. Final socre 7-2 to 2-4. Two u12 finals next week (24-5-19)
Both u12 sides have reached finals next week. On Wed. evening the yellow side play East Clare Gaels at 7.30pm (venue to be confirmed). The following evening the Blue team take on Doora Barefield time and venue to be confirmed by the county board. All support appriciated for the girls. Well done also the u12 management of Trisha Meaney, Alan Culligan, Barry Keating, Noreen Burke and Thomas Lees who manage both teams.
U12s beat Kildysart (23-5-19)
The u12 side played with great heart when they overcame Kildysart last night. Both sides werer level at the break 2-3 a piece. The final score Fergus Rovers 3-10 Kildysart 4-6. They will now play East Clare Gaels next Wed at 7.30 with a venue to be confirmed.
U12s yellow v Kildysart (22-5-19)
Fergus Rovers U12 yellow team will play there final game in the group this evening when they play Kildysart in Kildysart at 7.30pm. This is a must win game for both sides as the winner will play East Clare Gaels in the final. Both Kildysart and Fergus Rovers have won all but one game with Kildysart loosing to Liscannor and Fergus rovers loosing out to East Clare Gaels.
u8 Blitz, (18-5-19)
Well done to all who took part in todays u8 blitz in Frure. Rovers had 3 teams with visiting teams from Cuil Gaels, West Clare Gaels and Kilrush. There was some real talent on display and all playing there hearts out. Well done to the mentors Claire, Ann, Helen, Cathal, Bernard and Paddy for all there work with this team. To Oisin who help orgainse on the day. Also thank you to all who provided food and served it for two hours.

Fergus Rovers had a comefortable win over Burren Gaels on Sunday evening in Frure. From the throw in Aine Slattery had the ball in the Buren Gaels net. Rovers led at the break 1-11 to 0-1. Rovers continued where they left off in the first half adding 2-10 to there tally, the goals from Aine Slattery and Ava O Malley. Louise Griffin also accounted for 7 points. 10 players in total got on the score board including corner back Rebecca Culligan. The management team of Eammon Finunnace, Pakie Keane, Fr.Brendan Kyne, Martin Kelly and Deirdre Cummins will be delight with the display of football the girls produced. Intermediates v Kilrush (30-4-19)
The intermediate side has a tough evening in Kilrush loosing on a score of 3-10 to 6-16. Kilrush created the damaged in a five minute spell scoring 3 unaswered goals midway through the first half when the side were level at 3 points each. Wing forward Aine Browne accounted for 2-12 of the winners tally and veteran Linda Russell adding 2-1. It was a joy the watch the skills of full forward Molly Dowes who also added to the score board with 1-2. Points in the first half from Aine Slattery, Lauren Griffin, Maired Hayes, Clare Hestor (3pts) and 1-1 from Alana Hanrahan had the half time socre 1-7 to 4-8. Aine Kelly (2) Louise Griffin (goal) and an Alana Hanrahan (goal) accounted for Rovers second half scores. Tractor Vintage Car and Truck Run fundraiser (22-4-19
There will be a Tractor run on Sunday 28th of April in Lissycasey at 1.30pm in aid of Regina Pallative Care Kilrush, Lissycasey Community playground and Fergus Rovers ladies football Club. The run will begin at Lissycasey playground stopping in Cranny for refreshments and finishing with music by Alan Kelly in Fanny O Deas. Entry fee is €20 and all are welcome.

The Banner will reperesnet Clare in Feile later this year. They overcame Doora Barefield in the final on Sunday. Rovers lost to the winners in the opening game 3-5 to 4-1. Next up they played the finalist Doora Barefield and lost 1-6 to 0-0. In there final round game Fergus rovers over came Cooraclare 1-4 to 0-6 so that ment they played the Banner in the semi final loosing on a final score of Fergus Rovers 0-2 The Banner 3-4.

U16 semi Final (18-4-19)
The U16 side will renew battle with Burren Gaels in the semi final. Rovers travelled to the north Clare side in round 1 where there was very litte between the side. Burren Gaels came out on top on that occasion. Doonbeg will meet the Banner in the other semi. Dates, times and venues to be confirmed.
U16s win (17-4-19)
The u16 side beat Miltown on Tue. evening to book a place in the semi final. Rovers lead at the break 4-1 to 1-3. (final score to follow).
U12s opening league games (3-4-19)
Both u12 teams are in action this weekend in the opening games of the league. The Blue team are away in Newmarket playing the host on Saturday 6-4-19 at 4.30pm. The Yellow team play East Clare Gaels at home either in Frure or Ballynacally at 2pm also on Saturday.
U14 Feile (3-4-19)
The county Feile will be held on the 14th April (venue to be confirmed). Rovers have two teams in competition. In Division one Banner, Cooraclare, Fergus Rovers Clooney Quin, and Doora Barefield A will battle it out. In Divison 2 (group C) Doonbeg, Wolfe Tones and Fergus Rovers will complete to see who comes out on top.
U6 training 25-3-19
The first u6 session for Fergus Rovers girls will be held on 29th March in Lissycasey hall from 6 pm to 7pm for girls born in 2013-2014 and who are going to school and are residing in the club catchment area. Claire Meere will lead the group with serveal parents getting involved.
Hosting St.Brigids this weekend (21-3-19)
We are hosting St. Brigid's, Castleknock u14s this Sat March 23rd. The Manager of this Dublin team Michael O'Loughlin who's sister Catherine was a former player with Fergus Rovers & continues to support the club so there is a strong connection between the clubs. The game will be played in Frure pitch at 1pm. There will be refreshments afterwards upstairs in the clubhouse. We would love to see people come out on the day & show your support for both teams and also to provide a warm welcome to our visiting team. So if free please come along.
League opener dissapointing result (9-3-19)
Fergus Rovers opened there division 2 league with a disappointing result but positive performance. Trailing at half time 0-4 to 0-10 with Louise Griffin, Lauren Griffin and Aine Kelly with the points. Six unanswered points mid way through the half was Rovers downfall. Aine Kelly and Aine McSweeney cut the lead early in the second half with points. Miltown responded with 1-2 before a good spell for the home side with points from Aine Kelly one from play and one from a free and a Louise Griffin point. Aine Kelly struck for a goal after a good team move to cut the lead to four points. This was a close as Rovers could get to Miltown. Final score Fergus Rovers 1-10 Miltown 1-14. The team was Gillean Griffin, Clare Hestor, Mairead Hayes, Bernadette Kelly, Carmel McGuane, Ciara Hartigan, Michelle Collins, Ciara O Malley, Alana Hanrahan, Sarah Mullins Louise Griffin, Lauren Griffin, Aine Kelly, Aine Slattery and Aine McSweeney. Opening league this weekend (6-3-19)
Fergus Rovers first competitive game for 2019 is down for this weekend in the adult league against Miltown. It is due to be played in lissycasey on Saturday evening (weather permitting) at 5pm. Training has been going well under new management of Eamonn Finucane, Pakie Keane, Martin Kelly and Deirdre Cummins.
U14 fixtures (15-2-19)
The fixtures for the u14 league will be confirmed after the March county board meeting. The club will play host a challange game against a team from Castleknock in Dublin on March 23rd. Its is also expected feile will be held on the weekend of 13/14th April (t.b.c)
U10s (15-2-19)
The 2019 u10 go games are scheduled to start on march 3rd in Gurteen. Fergus Rovers will play Clooney Quin, Kilrush and Kilmurry Ib. The second blitz is on April 6th hosted by Kildysart with teams from West Clare Gaels, Kildysart, Kilrush and Cuil Gaels. On May 4th West Clare Gaels will host the same four clubls. on June 1st they travel to Cuil Gaels. Fergus Rovers will host teams from kilmihil, Crusheen, East Clare Gaels, Liscannor and Wolfe Tones on Sept 7th. The final blitz is down for the weekend of Oct 5th.
U8s 2019 (15-2-19)
The u8 season is due to begin in mid March in Lissycasey hall under the guidance of Ann Weaver, Sinead Murphy, Marie Haugh, Elaiine Garry, Helen Flanagan and Claire Meere. More details with times and start date will be anounced later. They will have there opening Go game on April 20th when they travel to Cuil Gaels to play West Clare Gaels, Kilrush and Cuil Gaels. There second blitz is on May 18th which Fergus Rovers will host. June 15th they will travel to the West Clare Gaels club. August 31st Eire Og will be the host club and on Sept 21st Kildysart will host Crusheen, West Clare Gaels, Wolfe Tones and Fergus Rovers.
Underage grading.
Fergus Rovers will have two tems in the u12 competition in Division 1 and Divsion 4 with both teams having there first game on April 7th. The division 1 team will play Newmarket away while the team in division 4 have a home game against East Clare Gaels. In u14 the club will also field two teams in A and D. The u16 side will compete in the B grade for 2019 and the Minors in the C grade.

Its with great sadness we hear of the death of Michael Melican . Michael was involved with our club as an u12 coach.
Michael will be sadly missed by his loving wife Claire, his children Shauna who is also a player with our club and Conor, parents Peggy and Patrick, sisters Christina, Mary (the clubs current P.RO), Una and Theresa, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, sister-in-law, brothers-in-law, parents inlaw extended family members and a large circle of friends. May you rest in Peace.
Michaels funeral arangements are as follows,
Reposing on Wednesday 30th January at Our Lady of the Wayside Church, Lissycasey, from 4 o'clock with prayers at 8 o'clock. Funeral Mass on Thursday at 12 noon with burial in the local cemetery. Family flowers only please.
Clare v kerry (29-1-19)
The Clare senior team are at home to Kerry on Sunday next in Donbeg at 2pm in round 1 of the national league. Fergus Rovers have two members part of the panel with Clare Hestor and Aine Kelly.
Adult management in place. (29-1-19)
Eamon Finnucane had been confirmed as Intermediate manager for the coming year. Pakie Keane and Martin Kelly will form part of his backroom team while Deirdre Cummins will continue in her roll as administrator. Training will start for this group on Sunday 27th Jan in Lissycasey main pitch running track.
The u16s also have new management in place with Danny McCarthy taking over as manager/ trainer. Kevin Tighe and Imelda Griffin will be part of the setup. The u16s will start training on Sunday 3rd Feb from 7-8 pm in Kildysart Astro turf.
U12s and U14s back training (25-1-19)
The u14 panel are back in training for the season ahead. They continue to train at the track in Lissycasey main ptich from 5 to 6pm on Sunday evenings. The u12s season is due to begin also. They will start at Kildysart astro turf on Sunday Feb 3rd from 6 to 7pm. After 6 weeks they hope to begin field training in Ballynacally on the Wed evenings. The u12 panel will be divided into two teams again this year. The league is expected to start around St Patricks weekend. The management for the u12 side this year is Patricia Meaney manager, Noreen Burke, Joan Meade, Tomas Lees Barry Keating and Alan Culligan.
Club Meeting (11-1-19)
There will be a club meeting on Friday night in the community room (near main pitch) to finalise managements for all age groups. The meeting begins at 8pm. All are welcome.
National Football league (11-1-19)
The ladies Division 2 national football league begins on Sunday 3rd February with a home game against Kerry. Rd 2 is away to Wexford on 9th Feb, Rd 3 away to Cavan on 23rd Feb, In rd 4 Clare are at home to Laois on March 3rd, Rd 5 away to Armagh on St. Patricks weekend, rd 6 home to Tyrone on 24th March and Rd 7 home to Waterford on the weekend of 7th April.
