All Ireland Community Games title captured for the 3rd year in a row 28-8-23


Ballynacally-Lissycasey Community Games U 14 Girls Gaelic Football team won Gold medals at the All Ireland Series in Carlow on Sunday. The locals who won out the Clare and Munster Competitions a number of months ago defeated the Leinster champions Clonguish from Longford by 3-11 to 3-05 in the semi final and later accounted for the Ulster champions, Killann from Cavan in the final on a score of 5-12 to 5-03. The group comprised of Megan Browne, Anna Donnelly, Chloe Donnelly, Leah Griffin, Emma Haugh, Aoibhin Keane, Clodagh Kelly, Emma Kelly, Ciara Keogan, Caera McMahon, Caoimhe McMahon, Criodha McMahon, Kayla O'Connor, Ciara O'Rourke, Naoise Talty and Zoey Warren. The Management team was; Máire Garry, Ger Keane, Myra Talty, Lorraine Keane,

Fergus Rovers today participated in the U 15 Kilmacud Crokes All Ireland 7 a side competition.

 

They won the 4 rounds in their group but bowed out at the cup quarter final.

Ballynacally/Lissycasey won the Munster Community Games U 14 Girls Football title at UL on Sunday last. They defeated Castleisland 1-16 to 2-08 in the semi final before going on to account for Skibbereen 2-21 to 2-10 in the final.  


The group comprised of Megan Browne, Chloe Donnelly, Ciara Keoghan, Zoey Warren, Aoibhín Keane, Naoise Talty, Emma Haugh, Emma Kelly, Anna Donnelly, Caera McMahon, Caoimhe McMahon, Leah Griffin, Clodagh Kelly, Kayla O'Connor, Ciara O'Rourke, Criodha McMahon. They are managed by Ger. Keane, Myra Talty, Máire Garry, Maurice Browne, Patrick Warren, Yvonne Kelly and Geraldine Kelly.


They will now go forward to the national finals in Carlow on August 27th.

Naoise Talty, Megan Lynch, Emma Kelly and Megan Browne are members of the Clare U 14 panel that defeated Antrim in the All Ireland Bronze semi final at Abbotstown on Saturday last. The final score was Clare 8-09 Antrim 4-15. They will play Wicklow in the final on Sat. June 10th.


At adult level Clare defeated Limerick in the Munster Senior B final at Mallow on Sunday. Louise Griffin and Lauren Griffin were on the match day panel who now turn their attention to the TG4 All Ireland Intermediate championship where they are grouped with Tyrone, Offaly and Wexford.


Tractor Run

Fergus Rovers LGFA will hold a Tractor Run on this Sunday June 4th. Registration will take place from 3.30p.m. with the event getting underway at 4p.m. starting at Lissycasey Old Creamery via Ballynacally and on to The Local Inn, Drumquin for refreshments. The run will then return to Lissycasey and to finish off the evening there will be music by Twice Shy at Fanny O'Deas from 9p.m. The Entry Fee is €20.
